Our Mission
Empowering Lives Through Support and Care
As the nonprofit grew, we recognized the need for housing and daily support for adults with special needs, as well as for individuals experiencing homelessness. This led to the creation of boarding homes for special needs adults and other vulnerable populations.
Through partnerships, including Fitz Overlook, we expanded our efforts to provide both housing and comprehensive community support. Together, Hannah’s Haven and Ways of Life created a resource hub where families can receive guidance and respite care.

Hannah's Haven Story
Over 14 years ago, Hannah’s Haven was founded in honor of Hannah, the daughter of Tamika and Rudy Fitzgibbons. Hannah was diagnosed with a severe nut allergy and an immune deficiency, and her parents quickly realized how little awareness and support existed for families like theirs.
What began as a small nonprofit providing EpiPens and distributing educational books to schools, churches, and community centers has since grown into a much larger mission. At first, Hannah’s Haven focused on creating safe environments for children with allergies, but over time, the vision expanded to include broader support for individuals and families living with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and mental health challenges.
Our Reach
Fitz Personal Care
We help caregivers and families access critical services by:

-
Assisting with Medicaid, Medicare, and waiver applications (CCSP, EDWP, NOW & COMP waivers, and more).
-
Providing education and resources for conditions such as autism, allergies, immune deficiency diseases, and cancer
-
Offering caregiver respite, so families can recharge while knowing their loved ones are supported

A Place of Rest & Renewal.
Fitz Overlook
At the foot of the driveway leading to Fitz Overlook, families and caregivers are welcomed into a peaceful retreat. Our respite program allows them to stay free of charge for a day or overnight of rest and rejuvenation.
During their stay, they may also receive:

-
Massages and makeovers to encourage self-care
-
Guidance on waiver programs and support services
-
A safe, restorative environment to breathe, reflect, and heal.
At Hannah’s Haven, we believe no family should have to walk this journey alone. We are here to provide resources, advocacy, and—most importantly—a haven of peace and support.
The Fitzgibbons Family
Tamika and Rudy Fitzgibbons are the proud parents of three children—Rudy, Hannah, and Haylee— all of whom live with immune deficiency disorders. Like many families, they have faced challenges with both mental and physical adversity, and they have benefited from the services and mission of Hannah’s Haven.
As parents, the Fitzgibbons have always taught their children that you are never a victim—you are victorious. Whatever obstacles you face, you can use your pain as your purpose. Their faith and resilience are summed up in their belief that “all things work together for good for those who love the Lord.”
